Yoga for your Mental Health

Learn simple and accessible tools to help deal with stress
and manage your mood

8-week group class series with Michele Lawrence

Meets weekly on Tuesdays from 9:00-10:15 AM starting April 18th - June 6

Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood.

In recent years, mental health issues have risen and at the same time the gap between people needing care and those with access to care remains substantial.

The good news is that today there is a growing body of research documenting yoga's benefits for mental health. Several recent studies suggest that yoga may help strengthen social attachments, reduce stress and relieve anxiety, depression and insomnia. Additionally, yoga is for everyone. You don't have to be physically fit or flexible to practice yoga and simple techniques can be effective and go a long way.

Each weekly class will incorporate movement, breathing practices, meditation and self regulation techniques.

No previous yoga experience necessary.
