Building on our foundational work in mapping the subtle body, this mentorship journey will be an experiential introduction to Nāda Yoga—the yogic path of sound and vibration—as a powerful gateway to healing, presence, and connection. This can be essential to our work as yoga therapists both in cultivating a healing presence and in offering direct and powerful tools to those we serve. Rooted in ancient Indian philosophy, Nāda Yoga teaches that the entire universe is made of sound (nāda), and that through deep listening, vocal resonance, and subtle vibration, we can harmonize body, mind, spirit, relation.
Together, we’ll explore how sound moves through us (and indeed, moves us), practice toning and mantra, and attune to both external sound (ahata) and inner sound (anahata), cultivating inner stillness and expanded awareness. We will explore how the installation of sacred sound, especially Sanskrit and bīja mantra (seed syllables), is integral to working with the cakra systems, supporting subtle body alignment and psycho-emotional well-being. Rooted in yogic cosmology, Nāda Yoga views sound not only as a vibrational force of creation, but as a direct pathway into our body’s energetic centers. Together, we will chant, tone, and engage in deep listening practices, exploring the resonance of sound as a form of inner attunement, nervous system regulation, and transformation. Together we will bridge traditional wisdom with therapeutic application, providing tools to integrate sound-based practices into your work as a yoga therapist. When we work with vibration, we are working with our subtlest nature and the subtlest (indestructible) element, ether.
Nāda Yoga offers profound tools to support clients. Sound, vibration, and mantra can help regulate the nervous system, support emotional release, and harmonize the subtle body. Through practices like bīja mantra and deep listening, it offers a powerful tool for restoring balance and cultivating embodied awareness in therapeutic settings.
