Recent data from the CDC indicates that chronic pain is a growing public health crisis, now affecting nearly one in four U.S. adults (24.3%). It is the primary reason Americans seek healthcare and remains a leading cause of disability worldwide. Clinical research increasingly points to yoga therapy as a highly effective, non-pharmacological intervention, capable of reducing pain intensity and improving functional mobility where traditional treatments may fall short.
This mentorship is designed to bridge the gap between pain science and clinical application. As a participant, you will gain hands-on experience by:
Your assignment will include working with three clients who experience persistent pain, conducting intake & assessments, and developing tailored yoga therapy treatment plans.

Neil Pearson is a physiotherapist, yoga therapist (C-IAYT), experienced yoga teacher E-RYT500, and Clinical Assistant Professor at University of British Columbia (since 1998). He is faculty for three C-IAYT yoga therapist training programs - Inner Peace Yoga Therapy, Yoga Therapy International, and The School of Embodied Yoga Therapy.
